We got a chance to sit down with the Director of Photography at VR pornnow for an interview about their studio and recent expansion into CGI content under the banner VR pornnow CGI. Check out our full interview and some bonus behind-the-scenes photos!
VR porn studios are an eclectic bunch, but every-so-often a studio kicks off with clear, organized goals and bears the mark of success and the promise of continuing quality. VR Pornnow is one of those studios. They have multiple series with titles like Erotic Massage, Erotic Visit, and Lustful Lodgings, each offering a distinct artistic vision.
They've broken into creating CGI content in VR-- an increasingly-popular niche-- under the banner VR Pornnow CGI. And during our interview, they teased that they're in the final stages of a huge expansion into adult VR games, which you can already try on their website.

How and when did VR pornnow get started?
It is hard to figure out how it all started. The team behind VR pornnow originated from a VR related field so there was definitely an overlap. When technical enthusiasts, film & motion designers and co. come together and want to do something different besides the normal workloads there is a small chance that you end up creating an adult content studio. We also see great potential in the industry and we wanted to be involved in the development of the VR porn industry. So we started planning and executing our first shoots like two years ago in 2022.

What is the creative concept behind VR pornnow? What sets it apart from other VR studios?
To be blunt we are not reinventing the wheel in the production of the films. After a bumpy start we focused on establishing our studio first. But we are now branching into new different frontiers with our new CGI Studio and our upcoming interactive VR application. We want to develop innovative new products and bring them to market in the near future.

About VR pornnow CGI: what got you interested in creating CGI content in addition to filming VR videos?
We had some expertise in that field and wanted to give it a shot. CGI enables you to be more creative in many ways. You can create any location you want. You can control different aspects such as the lighting of the scene or the time of the day and so on. It gives you creative freedom.

How is making CGI porn different from making normal porn? Is it harder or easier? Does it take more or less time?
It is definitely different. It does take way more time to animate the characters and create the locations in 3D but we are certain that we can speed up the workflow significantly as soon as we get used to it. It takes some time to build an effective workflow.

What's an advantage that CGI VR porn has over conventional VR porn? What can CGI do that conventional porn cannot do?
To keep it short: there are no limits with CGI. You can pretty much create anything you want. Your own imagination is the limit.

In CGI there's no human model on camera-- do you use voice actors to add an audio component to scenes?
At the time we are speaking we use a library of sounds to bring our CGI movies to life.
What is an unusual or cool thing about CGI VR porn that you didn't know until you began making it?
It's way way harder than you think.

Could you recommend a scene for new viewers to watch first to get an idea of what VR pornnow is all about? Could you recommend a CGI scene too?

What kind of camera / equipment do you use and is there anything unique about your setup?
We are currently running the Canon R5c setup with the Dual Fisheye lens. We have mounted some lights onto our rig to ensure that our talents are lit well.
Do you have any funny or interesting production stories you’d like to share, like an odd or unexpected thing that happened on set?
There are definitely some stories but we try to ensure the privacy of our talents that worked with us on set. But our DoP has the tradition to take at least one funny picture with the talents on set. He plans to print them onto a huge canvas to make a BTS collage.
Is there anything else you would like to share with fans?
We would like to thank every viewer that keeps coming back to our video. It helps us immensely. And we are proud to announce that we are launching our own plattform www.vrpornnow.com. Here, we will focus on new interactive VR web applications from VR games. You will also get a lot of insights behind the scenes in our blog, which will start shortly.
Wait... You're working on interactive web apps and VR games? What can you tell me about that?
So some of us have been working on an interactive application that will allow you to choose between wich girl you want to see and wich position you want to experience. We are currently in the final stages of development. The first version is already available on our website and will be gradually updated. We are currently working on a second application. We are planning to incorperate interactive elements in our shooting routine to spice things up. We could plan different narative routes that will lead to different endings and so on.
