AR masks and filters at SLR?
There has been a lot of discussion about layering AR masks for performers at SLR and we'd like to know your thoughts. Is it something you'd like to see implemented at SLR?
AR masks, similar to the ones used on various social media apps such as Snapchat and TikTok, would add a new element of fun to SLR scenes, or could even be used to change or enhance certain features. For instance, you could change the eye colour or hairstyle of your favorite model. Would you like to see hot blonde Blake Blossom as a green-eyed redhead? AR masks could make that a reality!
It would also play into the growing popularity of cosplay and parody content, which proves very popular with some users.
The SLR forum thread has been very active on this topic, with plenty of opinions and ideas, some positive and some negative. One user made an interesting point: "I think it’d be awesome if we could toggle on realistic ones that enhance someone’s looks. We could have ones that hide wrinkles, smooth out the skin or even change hair/eye colour."
And Vrsumo2017 mentioned one of the popular filters and how it could add something new and exciting and sexy to VR: "I say yes... I've seen pornstars use filters while having sex, for example, one pornstar used that twirling tongue filter while she was getting fucked I thought it was kinda hot. I would replicate that in a VR video with a pornstar actually having her tongue out and twirling it crazy. We don't get enough tongue action in VR. We get up close tongue action but not enough from afar."
It might be possible to change the skin color of the male talent too, to best match your own skin, which would make passthrough content even better and more immersive.
Another perspective is that this tech might be more suited to SLR's new 2D smartphone app, and should certainly be easier to achieve and less intensive to apply. Future cycles of tech and processing power should make this more doable with VR.
