We're the only VR company in the world to offer this mind-blowingly high standard of immersive technology. It was initially expected that this project would take years and cost an astronomical amount of money but our talented devs managed to achieve it in record time.

February 2024

This month has marked our biggest leap forward in AI Passthrough yet. Our AI algorithms have gotten more advanced with this latest iteration, making retroactive background removal even more sophisticated, accurate and detailed.

General Improvements

A great example of this can be seen in the video Zazie Is A Super Hot And Naughty Girlfriend. In this screenshot (Captured on Meta Quest 3) you can see how much more precise the algorithm has become at removing visual content behind and around Zazie’s body.

It’s looking better and better!

There are some areas for improvement, to be sure. The AI still seems to have some difficulty interpreting the enclosed spaces between body members, like between arms and torso. There’s a pretty clear example of that here, in the scene Tiny Brianna Stretches For Giant Cock.

These minor artifacts, however, are exactly the kind of thing that will continue to improve as the AI takes in more reference material and gets better at distinguishing between the performer and the environment. It’s still an incredible improvement over what we’ve been able to achieve in the past, and it’s a predictable behavior that we know we can work out with incremental improvements to the AI model. Typically these minor artifacts are transient, and don’t persist throughout the playtime of the video, which is great. But we are still focused on making the system more perfect with every step.

POV Mode

We’ve added an incredible new feature to Passthrough AI that will give you even more control and flexibility with how you enjoy videos: POV Mode. The concept is simple: POV Mode allows you to toggle the visibility of the male performer on or off.

If you want to see more realistic detail, you can choose Regular POV mode. This option keeps the male performer in view. You’ll see your real life surroundings in passthrough, as expected, like this example from the scene Stepmom Watches Stepson Jerkoff.

But many users have requested the ability to remove the guy from the shot, allowing you to see your own body through the passthrough filter. For many, this adds another layer of immersion and enjoyment, so we obliged. Toggling the POV Mode to Girl Only tells the AI to remove the male performer from the scene, like this.

See the difference? It’s truly amazing.

You may notice that when the male performer's hands interact with or occlude the female performer, it can potentially create visual inconsistencies. For many videos this won’t be an issue, depending on how interactive or participatory the male performer is in the scene. But we’ve noticed that some users may find an opportunity here to immerse themselves further, by assuming the role. Try it for yourself putting your hands where the male hands would be.

Because this is a brand new technology, we’re not sure what the general response will be. Who knows– maybe a lot of people will really enjoy being able to get more hands-on with the girls! Try it for yourself and let us know!

We Do It Live

It might not be immediately obvious, but the way our AI works is by rendering in real-time. These aren’t re-uploaded videos with an AI mastering. They’re the same exact videos as before and the AI is interpreting and modifying the view to your headset in real-time, on the spot. That means we’re getting even closer to providing the Passthrough option on every video.

Old, new, recorded in passthrough or not… every single one.

New Filter

To mark this significant leap forward in AI Passthrough development, we have added a brand new filter to SexLikeReal called Passthrough AR (AI). We opened it with over 150 videos that have been given the brand new AI passthrough option, with many, many more to come. Check out the latest AI passthrough videos yourself right now!

We’re extremely proud of our latest developments, but this push into AI tech is a constant work-in-progress. We’re improving our algorithms and aiming to improve much of the video rendering aspects, such as softening edges and decreasing the latency of masking layers. AI Passthrough (BETA) has been released to the public! AI passthrough now has its own search filter and the first few videos are live for you to view and enjoy. September 2023

We are about to release a revolutionary new form of AI-generated passthrough which will improve the overall experience and resolve a number of issues raised by users. It works on the following basis:

It will be streamed alongside the main video, making it possible to switch between the passthrough version and the standard video without having to use the chromakey selection.
It will include an experimental feature that allows the removal of the male body in POV videos. Note: Currently, this involves a time lag when switching modes.

July 2023 (and all earlier information)

First, look at this side-by-side comparison video. This shows the remarkable difference between the existing method using the Capcut video editing tool and the new technique developed by the SLR computer vision team. As you can see, the difference is vast.

Explaining why the difference is so great, Alex from our computer vision team said "Most of the existing models for segmentation and matting are failing with porn videos, even if they are supposed to be universal. The reason is due to the forced removal of porn from the model's training data. So to get around this, we have developed a custom AI-based algorithm specifically for VR porn matting."

Quality Time with Molly Little is an amazing example of how good passthrough AR porn can be. This scene was filmed using a full-body chroma suit to removes the male talent in PT, allowing you to position your body in place so it feels just like you're right there having sex with Molly! We are looking into more techniques, such as removing the penis using AI and we are exploring the latest methods to remove both backgrounds and torso so scenes won't need to be shot in chromakey.

You can see there is significant progress on AI passthrough and infrastructure for alpha-channel streaming. Follow all further developments at the SLR forum post dedicated to providing passthrough for all videos on SexLikeReal.

Ongoing improvements to alpha channel passthrough

This image shows a detailed explanation of the alpha channel workflow.

By scaling the 6K scenes up to 8K resolution (the maximum resolution that the headset can play) we are able to work with 53% so the alpha channel gets more pixels to work with.

This is purely for the alpha channel - when backgrounds are cut, this helps give clearer edges, so it works better with fine details, such as hair.

This example image will help explain more clearly:

It shows an ear. On the left is a 6K alpha, which is 40% of the original size, while on the right is an 8K alpha channel which is 53% of the original size. The more scaled down the alpha channel, the fewer pixels and fewer details remain.

The image below on the left shows the alpha channel at 100% scale (excellent detail for passthrough) and the image on the right shows the alpha channel at 10% of the original scale - this is much blockier and less immersive.

As you can see, scaling 6K master footage up to 8K means the alpha channel has more to work with, which results in a better quality passthrough experience.

SexLikeReal has always been at the forefront of VR porn and high technology. Right now, we’re focused on how we can convert existing scenes into green screen passthrough videos, as well as create new content that’s more immersive than ever. Here are two rough examples of what we have in store so far.

The SLR team is working hard to make this tool as realistic and immersive as possible, taking VR technology to a new level. We’re super excited to see what’s possible with this approach, and we believe passthrough VR will be the future of the industry.

Please note: Passthrough AR video is best experienced on the Meta Quest 3. The Meta Quest Pro (stereoscopic color passthrough and the Pico 4 (monoscopic color passthrough) are also recommended. It is compatible with the Quest 2 and Valve Index, although it is monoscopic black and white. Passthrough is not yet compatible with Oculus Link on PCVR or the VIVE XR Elite headset.
