Featured Studio: TransVR
TransVR is a companion platform to the respected, longest-running trans content company: Grooby. Their CEO Steven Grooby kindly agreed to speak with us about his network of sites serving transgender porn fans all over the world.
Grooby has been a pillar of the transgender community and trans media since 1996. They were the first trans-focused production company to break into VR porn back in 2017 and already have a rich library of VR content available. Fans might wonder, then, why launch a new brand with TransVR? We reached out to the founder and CEO, Steven Grooby, to ask this and several other questions about his company, TransVR, the VR porn industry and more.
What is TransVR and how is it different from GroobyVR?
STEVEN: TransVR is a sister site to our award-winning GroobyVR– one of the longest running VR sites– which started in 2017 and has scenes of all the biggest names in trans porn. TransVR.com is a site that features a wider range of girls, scenes, fetishes and niches and includes bonus solo scenes regularly. We've increased the producers from the two we had working on GroobyVR (one in the US and the other in Brazil) and now have four in the US, one in Brazil and one in Thailand and we're opening a European studio soon for VR.
So TransVR is helping Grooby expand?
STEVEN: GroobyVR has been hugely successful for us, and we've capitalised on the content by having a second site with only the 'flattened' content at a cheaper price at TransexPOV.com. It surprised me when I talked to other VR companies that they hadn't done that yet. We're going to continue our production schedule of 10 VR scenes a month across the sites, but at the same time are looking at what else we can do in VR that is more immersive and interactive. I can’t give anything away right now, but the concept would be something that would help trans people with their own image and identity, and also a side project that would allow more interactivity with some of our top models.
That sounds beneficial and interesting.
STEVEN: These are interesting times with VR and AI and the melding of both of those together. It's going to make for some incredible porn in the coming years and decades as we step away from the traditional 2D or flat screen model.
If you could book any model, who would it be?
STEVEN: We've worked with them all, there isn't a trans performer working today that I'd really want, as we've featured them. What would be powerful is if we could somehow bring back some of the performers via AI and VR from the early days of trans porn and revisit them in VR. While the technology may not be ready for us yet, there will be a time that it could be available.

Steven seems as intrigued by the opportunities presented by VR and AI as we are here at SLR. It affirms our belief that these emerging technologies give us a new way of promoting sexual wellness and self care, while still being fun and exciting to explore. If you want to engage more with other users or directly with us to talk about TransVR, AI, or any other subject, we encourage and welcome you to the conversation on our forum.
