Haptics Connect app: moving to BlueTooth
Many SexLikeReal users use the Haptic Connect app to connect their stroker to SLR for use with the amazing Sex Toy Scripts experience. We are making important changes to this app, to improve things for everyone across the entire platform. [Updated 16 October 2023]
There are currently two three versions of Haptics Connect:
- Android phone
- iOS phone
- Sideloaded onto the Quest headset (now deprecated)
Important: sideloading the Haptics Connect app is no longer supported.
If you have previously been using the sideloaded method, you will have noticed that a recent update for the Quest by Meta has caused sideloaded Haptics Connect to stop working.
As we are working on supporting BlueTooth pairing directly on the headset, we have decided to deprecate the sideloading option and focus our energies on finishing the implementation of BlueTooth.
The in-app use of BlueTooth with not only cover the loss of Haptics Connect on the Quest headset, but will also replace the need to use either smartphone options for Windows users (providing they have a BlueTooth adaptor).
This means we will eventually deprecate the smartphone options too, but this will be a gradual process, until all users have migrated to the in-app solution.
This is great news for everyone who uses SLR and sex toy scripts as it should greatly streamline the experience. We are aware that the Haptics Connect app is not ideal - while its logic is good, it does not currently take advantage of the best practices of the Android or iOS system. We are looking for a dedicated app store manager and iPhone/Android pro dev - if this is you, get in touch at careers@sexlikereal.com.
