Is the Pico 4 best for VR porn? Comparison VS Quest 2 VS Meta Quest Pro
The Pico 4 VR headset was released in October 2022, to widely positive reviews. But how does it stand up when used for VR porn? Access to SLR is now available (go here for full instructions). Now let’s look at this excellent new headset in more detail.
VR Porn on the new Pico 4: Review
Does the new Pico play VR porn movies? The simple answer is yes. The DeoVR app is now available through the official Pico 4 store (and can also be installed through SideQuest) and the results are exceptional. You can join in the discussion and see the thoughts of other users at our busy forum post here.
One of the key selling points for virtual reality porn is the ability for mixed reality color passthrough, which has received positive reports on the Meta Quest Pro (see our full analysis here). This can make the immersive experience of passthrough even better, allowing the user to see the models in their own surroundings at home in full vivid color. However, the color passthrough is said to be lower quality than that of the Meta Quest Pro.
Regarding visuals for Pico 4 porn, the resolution is greater than the Oculus Quest 2 and the sweet spot is said to be huge compared to the Quest 2, meaning the image is clear across much of the lens, rather than a small spot that requires inch-perfect adjustment of the headset.
Another advantage over the Meta Quest 2 is the ability to play videos from the USB port, providing an alternative to transferring videos onto the headset or streaming. (Tip: the SD card needs to be formatted by the Pico 4 first, and videos placed in the Movies folder.)
The Pico 4 has had excellent feedback from our users, as seen here and here, and could make a great affordable upgrade to your existing standalone headset, especially when compared to more expensive models such as the new Meta Quest Pro.
However, users have reported issues with the padding on the headset, where it fails to fit adequately, leading to light leaking in which causes glare on the pancake lenses.
Another major issue is that there is no release planned for North America, as yet, meaning many SLR users in the USA will be unable to try it and will have to stick with the Meta Quest 2 and Oculus Quest options. Elsewhere, there has been high demand and stock issues have been reported from Amazon Europe.
Conclusion
Many users report the image quality is greatly improved on the Pico 4 when compared to the Meta Quest 2 and other headsets, although there are numerous issues to be aware of, such as difficulty of access and reports of light leakage.
