PSA: Your poor internet speed could be due to "Double Paid Traffic"
If there isn’t a direct connection (also known as direct peering) between a website's host and your internet provider or telecom operator, as explained in this post, you might experience slow connection with the site during peak hours.
As the bandwidth used by SLR becomes bigger we have started to identify telecoms companies that operate in this manner and are tackling the issue. In most cases, this involves paying extra for ‘double traffic’.
For example, Deutsche Telekom was identified as having this kind of issue with SLR’s hosting company, so we took action to resolve it. There shouldn’t be any issues with SLR for customers of this company now.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could run a speedtest and let us know if you see low numbers, even if you aren't a SLR customer. This will help us with tackling these kind of issues in the future. Thank you.
